What the judges say:
A deep burnished amber colour with good clarity and viscosity. On the nose there is good intensity with clear notes of herbs and caramel smokiness like struck match. The toffee notes on the palate are indeed oaky and the overall flavour and mouthfeel are rich and rounded with a lovely citrus zesty finish the to balance the sweetness.

Over the years we have worked closely with Chestnut House in Pooley Bridge, a real food and drink emporium.
In 2018 we first produce to their request a "Cumberland Saucy Gin"
If you have not tried this pop into Chestnut House for a sample, it's a real winner. This has been endorsed by the Great Taste Awards receiving 2 Stars, a great accolade to the quality of the spirit.
Andrew owner of Chestnut House was then approached by Dalemain Country House, to create a Marmalade Gin to pay tribute to the famous Marmalade festival. Solway Spirits produced this to their unique recipe. This was so successful we went on to produce a Marmalade Whisky
